Barely three months after Jonathan Duhamel was crowned the WSOP Main Event champion for 2010.
But the action is due to get under way with Party Poker being the first room to roll out their 2011 WSOP Satellites. The 2011 tournament will once again be held at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino with 58 tournaments scheduled to run from May 31st to July 19th 2011.
As usual, most eyes will be focused on the Main Event with the overall winner set to write themselves in poker history and take home the largest amount of money available in the game.
However, unless you’re an established poker pro, the $10,000 buy in for the Main Event may prove to be a little out of your price range … which is where Party Poker comes in.
Over the next few months, they will be giving away a series of $14,000 packages to Las Vegas which will include all flights, accommodation and a buy in to the biggest tournament in poker.
As Party Poker spokesman Mike Sexton said yesterday, it’s a prize that will never be forgotten.
“I made my first trip to the WSOP in 1984,” he said. “That trip changed my life forever. I knew right then that as long as I lived, I would never miss another WSOP.”
The Qualifiers have already started and will continue to run until January 20th. Buy-ins actually start at $0 but will continue to grow towards a $750 WSOP qualifier which will be held every week.
Party have promised that they will give 1 qualifier in every 20 will be awarded a $14,000 package to the Vegas – that’s some serious value right there, especially with there being no cost to enter at the moment.
There’s even more value if you’re not currently a member of Party Poker. If you sign up with the bonus code BONUSPARTY, you’ll be instantly awarded a welcome bonus worth up to $500 when you make your first deposit.
