PKR announce new $25k ‘Main Event’

Today saw PKR.com release details of its new monthly deepstack tournament, The Main Event which is due to start at the beginning of March.
This latest MTT from the popular 3D poker room will feature a guaranteed prize pool of $25,000 and a buy in of $35. Players will each receive 10,000 chips with blinds increasing every 30 minutes.
Norm MacDonald set to host High Stakes Poker?

The seventh season of High Stakes Poker is due to air later his month with reports suggesting that comedian and poker play Norm MacDonald will be the show’s new host.
MacDonald is more commonly known for his appearances on Saturday Night Live in the 1990′s and has since gone on to make regular appearances in Vegas at the WSOP as well as a number of charity poker events.
Carbon Poker set for site overhaul

Carbon Poker, the flagship site of the Merge Gaming Network, is due to undergo a transformation on March 1st with a brand new website, look and logo being launched.
A source within Carbon Poker told us that the transformation would include all areas of their current online presence:
Cake Poker hit hard by loss of Doyles Room

Only a few days ago we were wondering how the Cake Poker network would be effected by Doyles Room jumping ship to the Yatahay Network … well now it seems that we know.
It was as recently as February 2010 that PokerScout.com was tracking the Cake Network as having a 7-day average of 2,250 real money players.
Doyles Room to leave the Cake Network?

The poker rumour machine is at it again and this time it’s focusing on Doyles Room – the poker site endorsed by the poker legend Doyle Brunson.
Suggestions are that the poker site, which moved to the Cake network in 2009, might be on the verge of moving again … with the Cereus Network being tipped as their most likely destination.
Pokerstars unveil ‘Home Games’

Pokerstars have just released details of the latest addition to their prize-winning software: Home Games.
This new functionality can be accessed by anyone with a Pokerstars account and allows the manager of your “Club” to set up a private network and invite players to participate in a tournament.
